‘On An Ocean of Greatness’ is what happens when you take on the label’s obsession with multiples of the number seven; seven players, 77 minutes in the key of G (the seventh note), 77 lines of seven syllables. There are drones, pianos, arpeggiated synths, and birds. These are the seeds of new songs, stretched, layered and sequenced like Saturn’s very own mixtape. The artwork, meanwhile, gives you a choice between the dark and light, imagined insular cults of seven and the communal rush of rave. We’re an ocean of greatness.

The reason I love this record, is that despite being over 60, I am forced to dance about to it - non stop and grin at the lyrics. It is no longer possible for me to negotiate airports and traveling without having dry cleaning blaring into my soul - I could not deal with mankind without the driving rhythm, the poignant early 80’s guitar, and the laconic musings of this wonderful band.
