This song is another testament to my mother, and to all mothers and parents. ‘You are the bend in the archer’s hand / I am your arrow’ references a text from Khalil Gibran’s The Prophet.
At the time of writing this song I was listening to a lot of 70’s folk revival, Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, John Martyn etc., and I wanted to write something that felt timeless in that same way.
