We are excited to announce the release of “Searching for Your Name”, the third and final single from the debut LP by silver biplanes.
“Searching for Your Name” finds silver biplanes channelling 60s baroque pop, with a haunting oboe melody underpinning the nostalgic mood. The song is, in part, about finding beauty in the seemingly mundane and the lyrics evoke bittersweet memories of growing up in an unfashionable English town.
The band features wife-and-husband team Vanessa Vass and Tim Vass. Tim was bassist and lyricist in cult Creation label band Razorcuts, co-writing all of their songs, and Vanessa was the singer in much-loved 90’s indie band The Melons. Their debut album, released on gorgeous orange vinyl in January 2023, embraces indiepop, post punk, psychedelia and krautrock, with a bagful of catchy melodies and lots of surprising twists and turns.
