Songs That Don't Exist

Sometimes you just can’t tell the end from the beginning Words and pictures, from time unwound And when you turn the light out your head’s still spinning Doubts and daydreams go round and round Believe me it’s the same for everyone All we have is a moment in the sun No-one cares about chances that you missed Or melodies of songs that don’t exist Truth is the highs and lows will still keep coming Makes no difference what state you’re in And no-one’s forcing you to keep on running In a race there’s no need to win Honey it’s the same for everyone All we have is a moment in the sun No-one cares about chances that you missed Or melodies of songs that don’t exist

about

We are excited to announce the release of “Songs That Don’t Exist”, the second single from the forthcoming debut LP by silver biplanes.

Sounding like a collision between early Cabaret Voltaire and The Shop Assistants, “Songs That Don’t Exist” demonstrates that silver biplanes aren’t afraid to take on board a range of influences. The result is something special - a catchy pop song with a twist of cosmic weirdness.

The song celebrates the transitory nature of existence (“all we have is a moment in the sun”) whilst incidentally posing the question, with so much great music in the world, why worry about songs that don’t exist?

The band features wife-and-husband team Vanessa Vass and Tim Vass. Tim was bassist and lyricist in cult Creation label band Razorcuts, co-writing all of their songs, and Vanessa was the singer in much-loved 90’s indie band The Melons.
